With my love for the ocean and passion for healthy, delicious meals, I aim to inspire you to cook with the best ingredients the Keys has to offer, making every dish a breeze to prepare. This blog is truly about enjoying the process.
Join me on this culinary journey, where I'll share tips, tricks, and flavorful recipes that celebrate the vibrant tastes of the Florida Keys.
My Background
I've spent many years working in New York in grocery sales and marketing, selling packaged food to distributors and major grocery stores like Publix, Sprouts Farmers Market, and Whole Foods Market. I also help small food brands get their products on store shelves.
My love for grocery stores runs deep, and I worked as a chef at Whole Foods Market for a while. In addition, I've written a cookbook called Americans Cook, featuring recipes from all 50 U.S. states. It's all about food!
Now, as a full-time food blogger, I share recipes from my home in the Florida Keys. My blog gives you a taste of island life, bringing the freshest fish and local flavors to your table. Many ask about my journey to becoming a blogger.

Must-Try Dishes
Learn how to pair Oven Roasted Mahi Mahi with Cajun Dirty Rice for a flavorful meal. These pairings are truly about bringing unique flavors together.
My mother is from Havana, Cuba, and she makes the best rice in the world! Make sure to try her Authentic Spanish Rice. Make it once and you'll be hooked!
I recently added this Key West Chicken dish. The recipe is made with Key West Chef Paul Manta's Old Sour Key Lime Sauce. This savory sauce elevates the meal to restaurant-quality food. The recipe uses chicken thighs, onions, and honey, creating a chicken dish that truly knocks it out of the park!
Paul was on Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted earlier this year. If you haven't seen the show yet, it's such a great episode with lots of local friends and our tropical scenery.
Inspiration
Originally from New York, I occasionally share nostalgic recipes like NY Diner Tuna Salad, Veggie Tuna (bagel-store style), and Sweet Macaroni Salad.
I’ve fallen in love with life in the Florida Keys. The crystal blue waters, relaxed vibe, and friendly people make every day here feel like a blessing. Living here truly is about joy and relaxation.
