Steamed sweet potatoes make an easy side for any meal. Cut them into chunks and steam until tender, about 10–15 minutes. Serve warm with butter or chill for salads.
Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into evenly sized chunks.
Place a steamer basket inside a medium or large pot and add water until it sits just below the bottom of the basket.
Bring the water to a boil over high heat.
Add the sweet potatoes to the steamer basket.
Cover the pot, return the water to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium.
Steam for 10–15 minutes, or until tender when pierced with a fork.

Storage and ReheatingRefrigerate the sweet potatoes in an airtight container within 2 hours and use them within 3–4 days.To reheat, warm them in a skillet over medium heat with a pat of butter or a spoonful of olive oil. You can also microwave them for 1–2 minutes, or until heated through. They taste great cold too, especially in salads.
