My favorite diet is the Kaufmann Phase 1 Diet from Doug Kaufmann of Know the Cause. If you want to get healthy, this is the eating plan for you!
The diet emphasizes consuming fresh vegetables, healthy proteins and fats, and low-sugar fruits. It encourages a whole foods approach, promoting natural and unprocessed foods.
The Kaufmann Phase 1 Diet eliminates wheat, most dairy products, commercially raised meats, peanuts, corn, toxic oils (canola, corn, vegetable), sugar (feeds all the bugs in your belly), mushrooms, soy, and a few other things.
In their place, you'll eat lots of fresh vegetables, meats from pasture-raised animals, healthy fats, and fish that swim freely in the sea.
I live in Key Largo, Florida, and we have a lot of fish here! Many of my recipes call for seafood because, in the Keys, we catch them and cook them!
Talk about a local food supply!
Try the Phase 1 diet for a few weeks. You have nothing to lose (except aches and pain, inflammation, anxiety, ugly toenail fungus, and a few bad habits). For the full story about why Phase One works, check out Kaufmann Phase One Diet.

Where to Get Fresh Fish
For fresh fish, head to Key Largo Fisheries, where each morning, you'll witness 15 people cleaning freshly caught fish right in the store.
If you're seeking a fresh-caught yellowtail from The Keys, specify that you want a fish that has never been frozen.
Yellowtails, relatively small snappers, can be shipped overnight and are exceptionally delicious. In Key Largo, you'll also find Key West Pink Shrimp, known for their exceptional taste and sold by the pound.
Stone Crab Claws, though somewhat pricey, are in season fresh from October through May, offering sweet flesh that's a seasonal favorite globally, particularly when served with mustard sauce or accompanied by lemon and melted butter.
Moreover, both shrimp and crab claws are rich in iodine, which supports thyroid health.
