The Paleo Diet, commonly called the Caveman Diet, really works. I was on the Paleo Diet after the Gluten-Free Diet and before the Kaufmann Diet and still practice many of the principles I learned from it.
The premise behind the diet is that if you consume foods similar to those eaten before our food supply was industrialized over 2 and a half million years ago, you can achieve optimal health and wellbeing.
What you can eat: lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, and berries, sweet potatoes (tubers), healthy fats, freshly caught fish, eggs, and pasture-raised meats.
Processed foods, including dairy, grains, legumes, and an endless supply of convenience foods, are not included in the plan.
